Das 3DS-Spiel Final Fantasy Explorers erscheint diesen Winter in Japan. Nun präsentieren Bilder eine neue Jobklasse: Den Freiberufler (eng. Freelancer). Startet ihr ein neues Spiel, so werdet ihr immer automatisch euer Abenteuer als Freiberufler beginnen.

Durch das Besiegen von Monstern oder Beschwörungen erhaltet ihr Rohstoffe, aus welchen ihr Waffen und Rüstungen schmieden könnt. Dabei wird es auch seltene Materialien geben, mit denen bessere Ausrüstung hergestellt werden kann.

Final Fantasy Explorers wird über eine Vielzahl verschiedener Waffentypen verfügen. Darunter befinden sich Schwerter, Handschuhe, Stäbe, Ruten, Äxte, Speere und Glocken.

Das Spiel wird außerdem die Möglichkeit zur lokalen Drahtlosverbindung als auch einen Internet Multiplayer-Modus besitzen. Der Multiplayer-Modus wird ebenfalls ein simples Chatprogramm beinhalten.
